inQventures invests in fundsonchain, a startup that can integrate blockchain technology more into our everyday lives. The founders Volker Braunberger and Johann Hainzinger are planning big things - they want to have their solution established throughout Europe as early as 2022 and globally from the end of 2023.
fundsonchain is a technology provider that offers the global investment fund industry the first end-to-end digital transfer agency platform based on distributed ledger technology (DLT). This will permanently change existing market infrastructures and realize significant cost savings. Initially, fundsonchain will launch its service offering in the German market. In accordance with the Electronic Securities Act (eWpG), the platform allows custodians to maintain a central securities registry. Previously, this was only possible for the central securities depository (CSD). Thus, for the first time in Germany, custodians have the opportunity to provide register management as their own service offering towards their clients. Furthermore, from 2022 onwards, after the implementation of the crypto fund units ordinance (KryptoFAV), the issuance of crypto fund units and their registration in a crypto securities register will be possible.
The DLT-based platform developed by fundsonchain, thus creates the infrastructure for the investment fund industry to process electronic and crypto fund units end-to-end and fully digital. In addition to register management, fundsonchain's range of services includes transfer agency, tax reporting compilation, and the preparation of legally relevant reports.
The official launch is planned for the first quarter of 2022.
